The unified e-mail service for University staff uses the commercial version of Zimbra Collaboration Suite that provides messaging and collaboration services: secure e-mail exchange, calendar and address book management, use of web-based documents.
The key functions of the service can be summarized as follows:
- E-mail delivery and retention
- Indexing messages at delivery
- Backup services
- Log services
- POP3 and IMAP support
- Directory services (OPENLDAP) and integration with Active Directory
- Antispam and antivirus protection
The technical-administrative and teaching staff using univaq.it, cc.univaq.it, ing.univaq.it, di.univaq.it, ec.univaq.it, dau.univaq.it, domain, can access their institutional e-mail address by following the procedure outlined in the netsec.cc.univaq.it website under the E-mail section.

We recommend access through Zimbra webmail (we also suggest access using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as browsers).
As an option, after having verified the correct functioning of your credentials, you may proceed to your own e-mail client set up (Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora etc.) following the instructions posted on the Netsec.cc.univaq.it website under the E-mail section.
The new email addresses follow the following format: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the case of two names being the same the mailbox could be: email@example.com where x is a progressive integer.
